Sybarite Policy

In agreeing to participate in Sybarite Productions’ LOVEisLOVE dance showcase, I, on behalf of myself and, if applicable, each dancer performing in my piece (each of whom must separately execute this policy acknowledgment), acknowledge that: (a) we are independent participants and are not employees, agents, representatives, or contractors of Sybarite Productions; and (b) Sybarite Productions does not discriminate against, nor tolerate the discrimination against, any person on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other protected characteristic under federal, state, or local law in admission, treatment, or participation in its programs, services and activities. We understand and agree that Sybarite has a zero-tolerance policy prohibiting any type of violence, threats of violence, sexual harassment, sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or any form of discrimination, harassment, or prejudice against any person participating in LOVEisLOVE. Violation of this policy will result in immediate disqualification from the showcase. Sybarite maintains a separate safety-based disqualification policy that applies uniformly to all participants: any individual convicted of sexual offenses, sexual assault, sexual harassment, or violent crimes that pose a safety risk to other participants will be disqualified from participation. This disqualification is based solely on legitimate safety concerns and the protection of all participants, and is not discrimination on the basis of any protected characteristic. By agreeing to participate in the LOVEisLOVE showcase, I affirmatively represent, warrant, and covenant that: (i) I have never been convicted of any sexual offense, sexual assault, sexual harassment, or violent crime; (ii) I am not currently under indictment or facing charges for any such offense; (iii) I will immediately disclose to Sybarite Productions in writing any such conviction, indictment, or charge that occurs or comes to light at any time before or during my participation; and (iv) I understand that any false statement or failure to disclose constitutes grounds for immediate disqualification and may constitute fraud. 

We acknowledge that: (a) as independent participants, we are solely responsible for our own conduct and Sybarite Productions assumes no responsibility or liability for the independent actions or behaviors of any performing participant; (b) Sybarite's reputation should not be conflated with the independent conduct of participants; and (c) any public statements that falsely attribute a participant's independent misconduct to Sybarite Productions, or that falsely claim Sybarite is legally responsible for such independent conduct, may result in disqualification from LOVEisLOVE and all future Sybarite productions. Nothing in this provision prohibits or restricts any participant from making truthful reports to law enforcement, regulatory agencies, or other appropriate authorities, or from exercising any legally protected rights.
